Steady Summer Action with Active Bass, Pike, and Panfish
Elbow Lake - Itasca, MN
Elbow Lake is offering a nice mix of fishing opportunities this week as water temperatures hold in the low 60s. Largemouth bass have been particularly active along weed edges and near submerged structures, with anglers reporting success using soft plastics and spinnerbaits in the early morning and late afternoon.
Northern pike are feeding aggressively in typical ambush zones—look to the drop-offs and weedlines using spoons or live bait presentations. Walleye activity has been moderate, with a few being caught on jig-and-minnow combos during low-light periods.
Yellow perch and sunfish are showing up in decent numbers, especially in shallower areas. Crappie bites have been light but present around brush and vegetation. Overall, a solid week to get out and fish with consistent action across multiple species.
